Excellent description of democratic socialism! One of the best explanations I've heard about the difference between conservatives and socialists (from Prager U, surprisingly), is that the right are concerned about improving the individual and the left are concerned about improving social systems. In other words, Prager U kinda admitted right-wingers are more selfish than left-wingers, haha.

But that's what society should be: a community for everyone. If you make a lot of money, give it back to the community. You don't need 10 cars, a mansion, and a private jet when there are people in your country several blocks from you who are starving. It's the moral thing to do, in my opinion. If I was prime minister for a day, I might even put a cap on wealth (like, you can't be richer than $X because after earning $X you must give all excess money away to government social programs or charity). Of course, I can hear the right-wingers. bawl at this.
