Fellow light-skinned minority chiming in. Yes, yes, yes! I think more and more Asian diaspora folks are beginning to understand that we are complicit/benefit from White supremacy; it is time we start having these conversations with our families too. I've also travelled in Asian countries and had difficulty finding sunscreen that didn't have "whitening." Now, I'm speaking as a diaspora person, not a local, so I might be just skimming the surface of this, but I think anti-Blackness is a distant worry for many folks in Asia because there aren't a lot of Black people there. But I still think we/they should care about it. Asian people come in all tones and shades; even in China, you can be pale as a Nordic person or dark brown. It would benefit many non-Western cultures to start discussing race and colourism too. So I hope this movement reaches them too!
