Great, thought-provoking article! I must admit I have been guilty of judging people who get plastic surgeries or use a lot of make-up. However, I do think there is a difference when it comes minors and certain cultural contexts. I'm thinking of places like South Korea where young people get plastic surgery for their high school graduation present and it just feels like a cultural expectation has been forced on them. Then again, I am not South Korean so I will refrain from arguing too much about a culture I have minimal exposure to.

I'm also thinking about many Asian countries where skin "whitening" products are super popular. There is a racist/colourist element to those kinds of products/practices, but I don't think this is the kind of thing you're talking about in your piece.

Anyway. I think if you are an adult who has the time, money, and interest in furthering your appearance in whichever way you like, by all means go for it :)
