This was an eye-opening piece! One question though—and I’m genuinely asking, out of complete ignorance on my part—if I did happen to meet a Black person and genuinely admired their hairstyle, what would be a polite way to compliment it? Like, say “nice hair!” and leave it at that? Should I compliment it at all?
