I appreciate the honesty here. I’ll just put it out there: I’m 26 years old too and nowhere near where you are in my writing process. I can barely churn out a handful of Medium articles a month. Granted, I am not here to make money per se (I apply to freelance jobs for that); I’m more here to earn a following (that’s not going great either, but that’s a topic for another time).

If money is the issue right now, I think that has to be taken care of right away before you take care of other stuff. You don’t need money to be rich at this point; you need it to live. I do too, so I have a part-time job that, while humble, pays the bills and keeps me alive. Anything I make above that from writing I treat as my bonus.

I don’t make enough money from my part-time gig to live comfortably, that’s the thing, which keeps me motivated just enough to seek out freelance jobs.
