I like your piece about boundaries, but I must admit that this is a difficult line to draw. A lot of my best work is around the topic of mental illness, so to stop talking about it would be to lose a big chunk of potential readers. I guess it differs from writer to writer depending on the topics they choose to write about. Personally I have no idea how some people can be so open about writing about sex and relationships!

Do you have an opinion on which social media channels writers should focus their efforts? I feel that the majority of writers enjoy Twitter, and I’ve been trying to get some traction there, but it still feels unnatural to me. I am a visual person and I often fantasize about Instagram, but is it worth it? Do readers and writers go there? Instagram feels more high-effort (you have to create nice original visuals) so I’ve been hesitating to shift my efforts.
