I think we can be a lot more productive if everyone just acknowledged that we're all probably at least a little racist. And being a little racist/microaggressive at times isn't the end of the world! The first step is seeing it and acknowledging it, and then we can make visible change :)
When BLM gained momentum this year I felt that many people's kneejerk reaction was to deplore "other" people who were racist, not themselves. "Because of course I'm not racist!" But we all are, a little bit. I know I am. The flip side of the coin is, if we all acknowledged we have change to make, we don't have to look at fighting racism as fighting some menacing enormous "other." Rather, we each have a little pesky demon within ourselves to fight.
If everyone could just take a few minutes to do that...world would be a better place I think :/
