Intersectionality! When I learned that the #MeToo movement was originally by a Black woman but made famous by a White woman, I was disappointed at our society for not recognizing the Black woman. But sadly, I was also not surprised.

Black women (and Black folks in general) have done soooo much thankless work for upholding civil rights, not just for themselves but for other POC and the LGBTQ+ community. As a non-Black POC, I have lots of Black leaders to thank for the freedoms I enjoy today, and I look forward to more BlPOC feminist leaders stepping up to the podium. It's time we recognize them!
