It’s absolutely their problem, not yours.

People who turn this around into your problem rather than owning up to their mistakes are likely people who have never had to worry about these sorts of things because they have always been privileged. Personally, even if someone came up to me and asked me to refer to them as he/him while they wore a pink ballerina dress, had D-cup boobs and a soprano voice the heights of Mariah Carey…who am I to say they shouldn’t be called he/him?

I would accept it, no questions asked. Yet there are tons of people out there who would think this is an attack on THEM and THEIR values. The logic of which I cannot understand. Dude, it’s not about you. If someone asks you to please refer to them as Mr. Alienhead, just do it ffs. Basic human decency.
