Let's stop calling science-based medicine "Western" medicine, for a start. And while alternative medicines like TCM are not as scientifically rigorous, I do think there's a place for them, sometimes. Some people swear by acupuncture, for example, and if it works—and is done well, with no safety risks to the patient—I don't see why we shouldn't do it.
