Thanks for touching on this topic; I’ve always been so fascinated by this! I know this is a very gendered way of thinking, but I do think women are just more in tune with each other when it’s just us… At least for me. When I befriend men, it’s a more gradual process. There’s a sort of learning period where you kinda have to figure out how the guy works. With women, I don’t have this learning period perhaps because I am also a women(?). So when it comes to sexual/romantic relationships with women, I can quickly become friends with them and then progress from here. Whereas with men, I need to take some time figuring them out first.

Neither of which is wrong! I enjoy navigating through different relationship dynamics.
