This is awesome! I found this article through a friend who tweeted it to me. It’s been something I’ve been thinking of a lot. I think to be very honest, I never truly, truly understood racism until Covid-19. Being a light-skinned Asian person in a very multicultural city, I’ve never felt unsafe walking around. Well, today my dad sat me down and asked me to be careful when I go back to work. I realized that fearing violence while simply going to work is something that tons of POC experience on a daily basis, for generations. I’ve just been too privileged to really notice until now.

There are so many awesome thought leaders and writers in the Black community. I feel especially drawn to these leaders and their writing right now, as I deal with racist violence myself. I look forward to growing as an ally.
