This is something I struggle with a lot too. I keep seeing stories on Medium, for example, from writers who have had some very big thing happen to their life that makes for a very good piece. (Sometimes it's horrific trauma, but you know what I mean.) Meanwhile, I live a relatively quiet, simple, easy life. I'm quite boring.
But you're right. Each of us has a story. It's somewhere there, deep within us, because no two human lives are the same and my timeline could be fascinating to you, yours can be fascinating to me, etc. And it might depend on how we tell it. As writers, we have the ability to make any story interesting, even the mundane, if we work hard on our verbiage.
