This isn't news to non-Americans. For years, decades, we've watched the decline of America, shaking our heads as the so-called greatest country in the world boasted about being the greatest country in the world when it doesn't even have a universal healthcare system, considered a basic right in every other industrialized democracy.

Don't get me wrong, Canada isn't great either. We've got tons of flaws and we shouldn't look down from a higher horse. But almost every day I look at the news and I think to myself thank GOD my parents didn't immigrate to America and chose Canada instead.
