When I am feeling depressed, I need things that are broken down to a level that helps me get through a bad day, hour by hour, with a lot of flexibility.

This really spoke to me. I’m sick of generic advice that often includes doing things that I would consider challenging, even in ordinary times, like “go exercise.” Exercising is a monumental task for me; I would consider it one of the major achievements of a day if I end up doing it.

I also have a mental health condition (OCD) and sometimes the mere presence of intrusive thoughts is so energy-sapping that I end up napping for three hours in the middle of the day. When it gets that bad, simply doing laundry is an achievement. You are right. We do not give ourselves enough credit to get the little things done. Especially in challenging times, we must celebrate the small wins.
