Wow, this resonated very strongly with me! I am also a "classically-trained" writer. I did a fine arts degree in creative writing and I'm writing my first novel after a string of publications in literary journals that frankly no one but the literati reads... Medium is humbling. It's a completely different style of writing, one that is often looked down upon by the literate elite, but it is a lot more impactful.

I wish to be impactful, and I hope Medium will inform my novel to be more like that.
