You bring up an interesting topic for conversation. I have had editors flag a line for me and tell me "maybe we should cut this because it weakens your argument," but I've wanted to keep those lines because I felt responsible for being open and honest.

This is something I try to remember: we can write whatever we want, have whatever controversial opinion we want, but once it's out there, there's nothing I can do about it. If it gets torn apart, it gets torn apart. And I just have to deal with it. If it turns out I was wrong all along, I'm ready to admit that.
